ENROLMENT PROCESS

THE ENROLMENT PROCESS

ENROLMENT INTERVIEW TIMEFRAMES:

The Enrolment Interivew process has now commenced. Beginning the week of 1 March, 2021, we are in the process of scheduling the female students and then moving on to our male students.

The majority of our first-round interviews will be scheduled over the coming weeks, and will continue through March and into April. However, it is not unusual for places to continue to be offered over the course of this year, and well into next year. The Enrolment Interview process is quite fluid, and is dependent on the many changes that family's may experience in the lead up to their child's commencement in Year 7.

WILL EVERYONE RECEIVE AN INTERVIEW?

Not everybody will be interviewed in the first-round of Interviews (March/April). Even though your child is on the Waitlist, as we progress, it might be that some are only able to be scheduled for an Enrolment Interview in the event that availability still exists.

By the end of the first-round of interviews, Offers of Enrolment will be extended and as we receive the Acceptances of the Offers, we will be able to establish whether we can commence a second-round of Enrolment Interviews.

HOW IS THE ORDER OF INTERVIEWS DETERMINED?

Each Application is assessed in alignment with the School's Enrolment Criteria. In practice, we primarily interview in Date of Application order. However, Date of Application is only one of multiple Enrolment Criteria. There is also a strong focus on ensuring that the Year group is balanced. As such, we do consider gender, and in some cases, we look at school reports and co-curricular endeavours. In this way we are able to continue offering a strong academic program and excellent opportunities in sport, music, drama and the arts.

HOW LONG IS EACH INTERVIEW?

Enrolment Interviews will be approximately 30 mins in length, and we ask that each student be accompanied by at least one parent.

WHAT IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE AN ENROLMENT INTERVIEW?

If you remain keen for your child to be considered for a place in Year 7, then we recommend that you keep in contact with the School. Over the course of the next 2 years, there is usually some change in Acceptances, with families moving out of the area, or not being able to take up their confirmed place. From time to time, further places become available towards the latter half of Year 6, so it is helpful for the Enrolments Office to know which students are still seeking a place at that time.

Another option is to have your child register for an Academic Scholarship examination or a Music Scholarship audition. These usually take place when the child is in Year 6, and are for the following year.
